We’re living in a crazy time that everyone is an AI artist thanks to amazing AI art generators like DALL-E, Midjourney and etc.

Today, I get caught by an interesting article that shows how to use Midjourney to create Pixar-style AI avatars, as a life-long fan of Pixar fascinated by its movies and peculiar innovative culture.

The good news is that everyone can make their own version of it within 30 minutes. And the generated result looks more than just appealing to me. It’s abstract like an art but tangible enough so that you can tell who’s masked behind the hilarious cartoon face.

Below is the instruction plus a history of my attempts.
  1. Choose the image and make it publicly accessible
  1. Write the prompt
    1. To add images to a prompt, type or paste the web address where the image is stored online. The address must end in an extension like .png, .gif, or .jpg. After adding image addresses, add any additional text and parameters to complete the prompt.

  1. Repeat 2 to tune the prompt until you’re happy with the result

The image I selected is the same as what I’ve for my personal website, with a shortened URL at https://s.mj.run/3WChKVc1swk.
